Donald A. Schexnayder, MD, Ph.D

Dr. Schexnayder attended Medical School at Tulane University from 1972 to 1975 and continued as a Medicine Intern there in 1976 and as a Psychiatry Resident until 1979.  From 1979-1980 he was a Child Psychiatry Resident at the Hartford Consortium for Child Psychiatry in Hartford, Connecticut.  He then returned to Tulane Medical School from 1980 to 1981 for a Child Psychiatry Fellow in their Department of Child Psychiatry.  He also completed Psychoanalytic training at Tulane from 1977-1983.  Dr. Schexnayder was Board certified in Psychiatry in April of 1981 and has been a Clinical Assistant Professor at Tulane since July of that year.  At that time he also began a private practice in New Orleans in Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry and continued it until 2005.  He expanded his private practice to Metairie in 2001, and it is still presently active.  Dr. Schexnayder has served in a Consultant capacity many times in his career at Donaldsonville Mental Health Center, Hope Haven Madonna Manor, Substance Abuse Program at Prevost Memorial Hospital, Westbank Therapeutic Services, Riverside Residential Center, and the Ascension Parish Child and Family Counseling Center.  From 1988 to 1989 Dr. Schexnayder was the Clinical Director of the Substance Abuse Program for Adolescents at CPC Coliseum Medical Center.  He then worked as a contract worker at West Jefferson Mental Health Clinic from 1992 to 1998.  In 1999 he became a Clinical Trial Investigator at Dolby Research, LLC, and he became the Medical Director there in 2004.  He continues both of these positions today.  Dr. Schexnayder holds memberships in several professional organizations.  He has held many offices, including his current title of Member, Board of Governors of Orleans Parish Medical Society.  The American Psychiatric Association honored him with a Fellowship in 1998 and a Distinguished Fellowship in 2003.  Since 1998 Dr. Schexnayder has performed public service as a Member of the Advisory Board for Juvenile Court Services in Jefferson Parish.  He has been published in the Journal of the Louisiana State Medical Society and has performed extensive research on a variety of topics.  Dr. Schexnayder also has a B.S. in Chemistry from LSU and a Ph. D. in Organic Chemistry from Northwestern University Evanston, Illinois.  He enjoys classical piano, scuba diving, autocross, jogging, weight lifting, and foreign travel.

Andrew J. Hebert, LPC, Clinical Director

Andrew received his Master’s of Art degree in Psychological Counseling from Nicholls State University in 1998 and his license as a Professional Counselor in 2001. With over 15 years experience in the mental health arena, Andrew has focused most of his efforts in improving the lives of children, adolescents and their families. He served as the co-developer and Program Director of the St. Mary Parish Family-Focused Juvenile Drug Court, as well as the Program Director for St. Mary’s Model Adult Drug Court. He was then offered the position of Program Manager of the Alcohol and Other Drugs Division of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ) in Reno, Nevada. While working on a grant from the Department of Justice, Andrew provided training and technical support to emerging Juvenile Drug Courts across the country. After the grant ended,  Andrew took a position as a Model Court Liaison and Program Director for the Permanency Planning Department of the NCJFCJ working on the expedition of placement for foster and adoption-ready children and the development of a set of Juvenile Delinquency Guidelines to aid courts in encouraging and facilitating mental health treatment in their juvenile justice programs. As grant funding waned, Andrew returned to Louisiana to work with Cadence of Acadiana as a Case Management Supervisor and Bayou Mental Health as a Clinical Manager. Andrew joined the Magnolia Family Services’ team in March 2006.

Jaret J. Hubbell, LPC

Jaret received his Masters of Psychological Counseling from Nicholls State University in 2006.  He has worked with Magnolia Family Services since January 2005, first as a Mental Health Specialist and upon earning his Master of Arts, as a Mental Health Professional.  He has also worked as a Counselor with Options for Youth in Houma, Louisiana.  He is a member of the American Counseling Association and Louisiana Counseling Association, where he is a member of the Louisiana Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development, the Louisiana Mental Health Counselors Association, and Association of Gay, Lesbian, and Bisexual Issues in Counseling of Louisiana.  He recently received his license as a Professional Counselor in August 2009.


Jamilah Johnston, LCSW, MCJ


Jamilah received her Master of Social Work from Tulane University in 2005.  In 2008, she received a Master of Criminal Justice from Loyola University and then a license in Social Work in 2010.  She has received extensive training in the areas of domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking, and victim services.  She is a member of the Louisiana Sexual Violence Prevention Planning Committee and the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress.  Jamilah has focused her efforts on implementing and supervising the Multisystemic Therapy (MST) program for Magnolia Family Services.


Nicole P. Methvin, LPC

Nicole received her Master of Art's degree in Psychological Counseling from Nicholls State University in 2005.  She does contract work with the NSU Family Service Center providing both skill-building and nurturing parenting programs.  Since Fall of 2008 she has been a Sociology adjunct professor at Nicholls State University.  Nicole has worked as a Mental Health Professional in the Mental Health Rehabilitation program at Magnolia Family Services since March of 2006.  She recently received her license as a Professional Counselor in May of 2009.

Betsy St. Pierre, LPC


Betsy received her Master of Art’s degree in Psychological Counseling from Nicholls State University in 2005.   She also was accepted into the Counselor Education Doctoral Program at the University of New Orleans where she is currently working on her dissertation focusing on the ethical training of group workers.  Betsy has focused most of her efforts on improving the quality of mental health services in Lafourche and Terrebonne Parish.  She worked as a Mental Health Counselor at Terrebonne Mental Health Center and as a Case Manager Supervisor with Cadence of Acadiana.  In addition, Betsy worked as a Mental Health Professional with Magnolia Family Services until receiving her license as a Professional Counselor and becoming a Clinical Manager.

Lester J. Olinde, Jr., LPC, President

Mr. Olinde has been a local resident of Thibodaux since 1979 and graduated from Thibodaux High School in 1987.  He then went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps from 1988 to 1992 where he served as a radio operator during Desert Storm 1990-1991.  After leaving the Marine Corps, he started college at Nicholls State University , and received his bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1998 and his master’s degree in psychological counseling in 2001.  He then obtained his LPC license March 19th 2004, and has remained in good standing since.  He has practiced as a counselor intern with the Lafourche Parish Drug Court, and prior to leaving drug court he was appointed Treatment Director.  He is currently continuing his role as co-founder, President, and Clinical Manager with Magnolia Family Services, LLC in Thibodaux , LA.

Donald B. Olivier II, MBA, CEO

Donald graduated Cum Laude in 2002 with a degree from Nicholls State University in Business Administration.  The following year he finished the MBA program there and was inducted at that time into the Beta Gamma Sigma honors society for his academic excellence.  He also attained academic scholarships and the highest in class score on the undergraduate exit exam while at Nicholls.  Donald became involved in MHR in 2003 and is the co-founder of Magnolia Family Services, LLC, where he fulfills the role of Chief Executive Officer.  By keeping a strong focus on a balanced budget, and using resources where they are needed most, he has helped make it possible for the organization to survive and grow despite difficult times.  In addition to his duties at Magnolia, Donald is owner and operator of Professional Construction and Leasing, LLC, a licensed residential contractor based in the Thibodaux area.
